» Retired Navy Capt. Wayne Nelms has joined Team Santa Rosa Economic Development Council as military affairs manager. Nelms recently served as Gov. Jeb Bush's military liaison and defense coordinator and was executive director of the Governor's Advisory Council on Base Realignment and Closure. He continues in an advisory capacity to the governor on military matters. His 36-year Navy career included a post as commanding officer at Whiting Field.

» Virginia Wetherell has been elected to the board of directors of Memphis-based Buckeye Technologies. Wetherell is president of Tallahassee-based Wetherell Consulting and a former secretary of the Department of Environmental Protection. Buckeye operates a specialty cellulose plant at Perry, where the company is proposing a $65-million cleanup project for the Fenholloway River.
